The Distortion Factor Meter is intended for use in audio industry, educational institutionsetc. It measures the total harmonic distortion content of the signal by suppressing the fundamental with an adjustable frequency band reject filter and measuring the residue with a wide band detector which could also be used as an A.C. millivoltmeter for measurementof input signal amplitude. It has a wide frequency range covering from 20 Hz to 200 KHz and a wide range of distortions from 0.1% to 100% full scale. Fine & coarse frequency controls are provided for ease of nulling. It has an output terminal for connection of oscilloscope for viewing the waveform of the residual signal. It is a highly sensitive instrument and has specially shielded modular construction for very low hum pick-up and self introduced distortion. Continuous and stepped sensitivity control is provided for easy setting of 100% set level.
